Our Roots

Stark Counselling has been shaped through years of experience as a mental health professional; from student internships working for a local women’s shelter, to working along community health teams as a registered social worker, these experiences have deepened Megan’s passion for women’s mental health and called her to create a practice focused on the unique experiences that can shape women's mental wellness across different stages of life.

Megan’s Approach

My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and genuine connection. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly heard, understood, and accepted for who you are. My hope is that therapy is a space where you can feel comfortable being honest, asking questions, and showing up as you are.

I value the importance of normalizing and validating lived experiences. We were never meant to carry it all alone. I listen without judgment and approach each person with curiosity and humility. Not every moment of session needs to be serious, sometimes, when appropriate, light hearted conversation and occasional humor can make even the hardest conversations feel a little more human.

My hope is that our work together will foster new insights, a sense of clarity and feeling a little less alone in figuring it all out.
